Subject: NH 664 baler sledge follower roll removal

SE Ohio
Hello,
I had a quick question about removing the sledge follower roll ( smooth roll above the three rough surface rolls at the top of the sledge) on a NH 664 baler. The bearing has gone bad on the right side of the roll. The belts also have worn a groove in the sledge frame on both sides around that roll, probably hastening the demise of its bearing. My question is can the sledge move rearward far enough to get to the bolts holding the bearing and hub etc. It looks like there are holes in the body of the baler if the sledge has to be moved forward, though it looks like it would be much easier to work on moving it rearward past the frame of the baler if it would go.
Thanks in advance for the help!
