Northwest IL | Are we expecting fireworks from the report coming up? Yields stay about same or do we see some bigger changes? Usually we get some surprise and probably will this year too. If we plan to plant big corn acres again this year that will mean more corn on corn acres get planted. Our area is heavy coc most years so don’t see a change here. Will the areas that went more corn on corn last year plant coc again or go back to more 50/50 rotations?
Edit to add, I heard a presentation from a guy couple weeks ago and he was more like 180 instead of 186. He acted like it still didn’t matter as he said corn is plentiful and piles were everywhere. I would think a 180 number would get a market reaction.
