Subject: Unidentified Vandal(s) Digging Holes

EC Nebraska
I need some help figuring out what is digging holes around my bin site and irrigation wells. The holes are almost exactly like you would dig for a wood fence post. I would say they are 8 inches in diameter. They go about three feet deep (straight down) and then stop. Whatever is digging stops, backs out, and digs another hole. They are in clusters with the holes spaced roughly 1-2 feet apart. I have never seen anything like it. There is not a mound at the opening of the hole. The dirt is spread out. It looks like whatever it is has fairly large claws. My guess is that it is something digging for food. If needed I will try to take some pictures and post. My best guess would be a skunk, but I don't exactly know what their habits are and I would think I would smell some evidence. Any ideas?
