Fancy Prairie, IL | I bought this tractor awhile back and it has been a work in progress (still is) thought you guys might like to see some pics, something to look at while most of us will be buried in snow soon. This tractor was parked for about 15-20 yrs as it was getting water in the engine oil. I drove by this tractor for about 8 years until (with the help of a friend) I finally got ahold of the owner and struck a deal. We fabbed up a drawbar to pull the tractor to the shop (about 10 miles). Tore the motor down and found that it was overhauled in 5-87 (stamped in the block deck) at that time it was bored .030 over. Completely disassembeld the engine and only found minimal damage in one of the cam bearings from the water. I ended up replacing all the wear parts again and took the crankcase to a local mach shop to get the crank polished and the cam bearings pressed in. After a long wait at the machine shop. I picked it up and started re-assembling it. just got it running and back together a few weeks ago. Thought I would post some pics of the work in progress and its current state. Still waiting for some dry weather to go out an work it. I will post some pics of when it's all done. Thanks to RC Ohda Farm Repair in Walnut, IL for all the help, thanks to Frank for tons of help and shop use for way too long.
For all that don't know a G1355 is basically a Minneapolis Moline from the bell housing forward, and a Oliver 2255 from there back. There are subtle differences here and there, but mostly is the same. It has a Minneapolis Moline 585 c.i. naturally aspirated engine. Uses the standard Oliver 6spd trans with the 3 speed over/under hydraul shift. This tractor is the predecessor of the White 2-150. The engine is the same as the one used in the A4T-1600 4WD Moline tractor. This particular tractor was built in 1974, they were built from '72-'74. They were made in three colors MM yellow, Oliver Green, and Cockshutt/White Red (these were badged as a White 2270). There are quite a few yellow one out there but very few Oliver green ones. Not sure how many red ones there are up there in Canada.
