Subject: Cheap seed corn vs. higher-ROI seed corn plot results

EC IA
Title kinda gives it away, but here's the results from a few strips of our non-GMO split planter this year. Epley 2320 vs. Nutech 74A5CV.

Epley was about 21%, Nutech about 20%. Yields listed are dry, corrected to 15%. Planted population was 33k, 20" rows. Seed cost was $135/bag for Epley, $219 for Nutech. All results are weighed on the same cart scale, and each rep is between 0.87 and 0.91ac. This is some of the better ground on the farm, but the yield monitor shows a similar difference in the rest of the field too.

I thought the Epley would be a little better based on the ear length I was seeing, but the Nutech had far better kernel depth.

Epley 2320 - 236.5
Nutech 74A5CV - 257.0
Epley - 238.6
Nutech - 258.8
Epley - 236.0
Nutech - 256.5
