Subject: Help Me Justify Precision Planting

I’m an extremely small time farmer, I plant corn and beans with a 2500 Kinze 8r30”/15r15”. Only planting 300 acres a year. Usually a 1/3 corn.

I struggle to make corn yield well unless it’s been worked and would like to no till some(most). I struggle getting the planter to maintain a 2” depth in hard notill. Often only getting 1-1.5”. This has led me to look into air downforce, which led me to precision planting stuff to see how much down force I need.

Does a gen 1 20/20 show me all I need to know? I had new quoted and it was way more than I could justify.

Can I justify a used set up? If I could find the parts to put it together how much should it cost?

Has anyone put air downforce on a 2500/2000 series kinze that has any tips, tricks, pics?

Thanks
