Subject: 'clogged' fuel injection pump?

Madison Co. Virginia
Deere 2640. The lift pump is working correctly, the filter is new, the injection pump inlet strainer is clean and open(first pic, sorry about the glare). I have excellent fuel flow up to the injection pump, and when I look down into the well where the strainer was, I see that portion of the injection pump is full of fuel. But I'm getting no fuel at all from the injection lines, the return line, or the bleeder screw (second pic, where the screwdriver is pointing). It acts like something is blocking fuel flow before it even reaches the main body of the pump where the bleeder screw is located.

Any ideas? Anything else I can try before I send the pump in for a rebuild? I'm comfortable tearing almost anything apart, provided I can buy gaskets to put it back together, which I'm less certain about here.
