Northern Alberta | Hello all. Right now I have an older Hi Hog squeeze chute. I am tired of having to prod cows to get them to go through the auto head gate, which really isn't auto when you get smart old cows. You have to hold it wide open anyways then catch them as they come through. Then they are either leaning or pulling back on it, which makes it tough to open and if they are pulling back, you have to open it inward, then they try to run through the head before you can open it outward and I am worried one of these days I am going to get a cow's hips or something stuck in that head gate. Anyways, I was l watching videos of Priefert's S04 chute and I like how the head gate works on that chute. However I have read that some larger cows are a tough fit in the squeeze. Since my Hi Hog seems to have lots of room in it for very large cows, I was wondering if it would be worth looking into mounting the Priefert HG91 head gate (the one that is on the S04 chute) onto my Hi Hog? Anybody ever mount that headgate on a different model of chute? Just wondering what everyone's thought on this would be? Thanks guys! | |
