Central NE | nothing to brag on here, True story. 2023 crop corn, harvested in november. sold the first part near $6, sold some at harvest at $5, sold some last spring for $5(4.99).
rest was in a bag. (skip the long story) bag got hailed on in july, 2024 corn next to it was 100% loss. Corn in bag now wet, pin holes in bag, site to muddy to get it out, steady rains for the next 6 weeks on this one farm and no chance to get it out. corn damaged.
Finally found a buyer 80 -90% damage people said. $2 per bushel is the best offer. cleaned the rest of the bag up finally. $2 / $3257 x 20 = .012 cents per bushel of real money. It has never been that low in history that I know of. It doesnt go far, lesson learned the hard way. |
