Subject: 30" Cover Crops

Eastern IA
This may be a silly question, but is it worth my time to try planting covers with a 30" planter? I can get plates for my Kinze meters for roughly $200 for wheat/rye. This would be our first attempt at covers, and I figured it would be an easy and cheap way to try it before diving in fully. Figured something has to be better than nothing. Curious if anyone has tried it before and had any luck. I tried a search and did not yield many results. TIA!
