| We're planning a trip to North Cascades National Park in NW Washington the 3rd week of August. Traveling from Central MO thru Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho before getting to Wenatchee WA for a night. The plan is to drive thru the NP from east to west seeing the sites and taking pictures. Our legs have gotten to old for any hiking. We plan to spend the next night in Bellingham WA then cross into Canada at Sumas, WA, take the ferry to Vancover Island and making a stop at the Butchart Gardens before spending the night at Nanaimo BC then taking the ferry back to the mainland and heading for Jasper National Park. I see that there is also a border crossing on WA route 539 which becomes 13 in Canada. Anybody have any recommendations? We take our time, seldom travel the interstates and try to average about 400 miles/day. Questions? Comments? Suggestions? It's just the 2 of us traveling in our trusty F-150. | |
