Subject: Neuropathy

Wife and I lunched today a Red Lobster in Tulsa. As we were entering the resturant a nice old lady (older than me) was backing out her Buick and as she tried to stop her foot was on the gas instead of brake. So she backed into a highlander parked behind her and pushed it over the curb into a hedge.

Embarassed and terribly nervous she pulled back into her parking spot and an acquaintence drove her home after leaving their identification on the struck vehicle.

I've had that experience more than once and one needs to fully concentrate on where your feet are and which pedsal they are on. Such is the peril with feet with poor sense of touch.

I wondered if any of you other diabetics have had that experience. In my case I thought I was on the brake pedal and was on both the brake and the gas. Not a good idea.
