| I recently priced a couple different row crop tractors with front duals. They were 2011 New Holland T8330 240hp and T8360 270hp. To start with I don't know how row crop tractors have gotten so expensive for a engine with wheels, but list is $249,000 on the T8360 and with discounts it is still in the $200,000 range. The question I have is it seems you could buy a used Steiger 335 with 1,000 hrs. and 335 hp. for the $170,000 range. It looks like you would get more tractor for the money with the 4wd. You can still buy them with 3pt. and pto. What are the advantages and disadvantages of a machine like this? I currenty have 2 MFWD tractors and am looking to upgrade one of them. Looking for something to disk with, maybe strip till, fall chisel, and possibly pull our 24 row planter not all the above, but these are all possible uses. TIA | |
