western iowa | We are starting to think about vacation plans for the year. Usually go the Labor Day week in September. Was wondering about a trip to Mackinac Bridge and see Mackinac Island? Also travel south thru Michigan to my cousins that live near Kalamazoo. I live in western Iowa. Would travel up thru Wisconsin and into the upper peninsula of Michigan. Across the bridge and south in Michigan and back home. Plan to avoid Milwaukee and the congestion north of Chicago. Maybe cross the river at Prairie du Chien or I 94 from Minnesota. Any suggestions on scenic routes, places to stay and things to do? I’m speculating a 2 day drive up. Stay in the Mackinac area for 3 days and a 2 day drive home. Thanks for any suggestions. | |
