Nc Ks. | Got a 4450 mfd with 16000 hrs. bought used at 10000, don't know if back end has ever been in to. Have a loader on this tractor so it gets a lot of forward/backward use.
A year ago left rear wheel wedges that hold rim to cast center became loose and I didn't catch it until rim was too worn according to JD for just new wedges. Needing new tires anyway, they replaced rim and wedges on that side on new wedges on the right side wheel. Lately I've noticed a single popping noise sometimes when I change direction. Not always and if releasing the clutch/inching pedal easy, not noticeable. Seems like it comes from the right side that has the original rim and it's more apt to do it with the front wheels turned to the right, but it can do it with them straight or turning to the left. Checked the wedge to rim bolts and they are all tight. Axle wedges looked tight but wheels were set out to end of axle, so I broke the right wheel loose and moved it in an inch and retightened. None of that seemed to make a difference. So my question now is could it be somethin internal and what. Normal gear slack for that high of hours? Otherwise no noticeable changes, noise or vibration wise and no shavings in powershift or hydraulic filters. Any thoughts appreciated. | |
