Subject: Best cover crop seeder?

East Central Ia
What's the ideal row width for a cover crop like cereal rye?

We are considering getting something to seed covers with and would like some suggestions as we have very little expirience with newer seeder options.

If we get something decent we would probably also use it for soybeans in the spring.

Last fall a friend seeded some rye for me with his John Deere CCS Seeder (not sure what model) on 15" spacing.

We were happy but curious if a narrower spacing would be better for covers?

If we look for a nice used CCS type seeder what models and options should look for? What's a double run vs single run etc?

We will want one with a tank mounted on the implement.

Should we consider a newer style box drill?

This will potentially seed up too 3k acs of cover and 1000-1500acs of soybeans.
