Subject: ISX oil cooler?

NE SD
It is my understanding that the oil cooler on an ISX has a thermostat in it. At what temperature should that thermostat open up? Last week when it was 95 degrees the oil overheated in my truck. I never really paid attention to it closely before that but don't seem to recall it ever being abnormal when glancing over the gauges. The coolant was running 200-210 at that time. Since then I have blown out all the coolers and radiator and other than during accelerating it drops back to 185-190 with ambient temps in the mid 80s, but the oil temp will climb up to 235-240 and stay there while loaded loaded and drop back to 225 when coming back empty.

At 250 the engine de-rates, and running a headwind at 103k is no fun.
