Subject: Agcostar 8425 Owners

Western Australia
We have owned an Agcostar 8425 for 5 years now has done 3200 hours . Engine is a N 14, I dont think any with the Detroit option came to Western Australia. We have had agood run out of it so far. Fairly basic tractor to work on and parts are readily available for driveline and diffs. Have just put a new hub axle seal in this week.
However it does have some traits that annoy me .When turning under load there is a driveline vibration, we have also just changed all the pivot uni joints.I have been reliably told by ex dealers that this was an inherant Agcostar problem.
We have checked the centre bearing and it seems fine, could they have designed a more complex centre bearing ?
The air shift compressor for the roadranger box will regularly blow fuses so now I have put a circuit breaker inline and an adjustable pressure switch, will see how this goes during seeding. How much air pressure does an 18 speed road ranger need to shift ?.
Local mechanic looked at the gearbox and clutch housing and said it would be a huge job to replace clutch. Service manual says to remove engine ! Surely there must be an easier way, maybe unbolt front diff an roll forward?
Would really appreciate any advice on above problems and any other areas that I should pay attention to as there arent that many Agcostars working in Western Australia and even less mechanics that know anything about them.
