East Central Arkansas | I don't know how I can make the simple things so complicated. I also know all my questions are getting old.
When using batts or rolls in the attic I always just though about using the r19 that's 5.5 inches thick. I think most of that is 23 inches wide to go between attic ceiling joist. Looking at the higher r value like r30 it says 24 inches wide. I think the Owen's Corning R30 shows to be 9.5 inches thick. So is the extra width to allow it to expand and meet over the joist?
My original thought had been two layers of r19 with the top layer laid the opposite direction of the joist. | |
