Subject: Oil change shop put air filter in wrong

NE IL
Went and got my oil changed on my pickup truck today. The guy pulled out the air filter to check it and he said it had been installed wrong. It’s almost a square filter, but it is slightly longer one way vs the other. The thing is, this shop is the only shop that has done any service on that truck. He said they had never replaced it, which is true. However, at every oil change they pull it out and check it. Of course, they said don’t worry about it. Everything seems fine at this point. When I got home, I pulled out the filter and put it in the “wrong way” just to see what it looked like. It had a fraction of an inch gap on each side. Not sure what happens when I put the housing over it and latch it shut. What should I do? Just let it go and hope nothing bad happens?
