| I want to point out how getting govt money is literally the American way
Elon has profited massively off govt subsidies. Is he a communist? Is he childish and unpatriotic for doing so? Maybe…but he still took the money and look at him now
Semiconductor companies have been getting billions for years now. Even tho they are the only companies actually doing well! They still get “chips act” funding. Jensen wang saying “oh no China is going to beat us in the ai race….unless we get some more of that govt cheeeeese”
So that aside
We aren’t hearing much about a “payment” but they are touting their trade “deal” with China.
Basically it’s like this to me
>”mr president, the farmers are in trouble, inputs continue to rise for them thanks to tariffs trade war policies, yet the price of the grains continues to slip”
>trump says “well then give them 12 billion dollars to help them out”
>”sir we can’t actually do that”
>trump responds “well just tell them we are so it’ll shut them up, stupid farmers will vote republican no matter how much I dump on them”
