Should be fine. I thought the problem was the pressure would drop if you get to -40, and/or the tank is less than 1/2 full, the surface area of the liquid will decrease, and the surface area of the "wetted" part of the tank also. You can get the pressure up with running water etc. to heat the tank above -20 and it will work.
