Sanilac Co. Michigan | Can it be run on land? Well, depending on the plow and how it's equipped, maybe. A lot of times there's a castored wheel on a vertical leg just to the right of your first bottom that rides in the furrow, some didn't, depending if it's semi mounted or a trailer plow. Too, you need to determine the center of pull on the plow in relation to the center of pull on your tractor. That'll dictate whether there's room to haul it on land, or whether you need to drop a dual and move your furrow wheel in or out on the axle.
If you're unsure, best cut to the chase and ask the owner how he ran it. A poor job of plowing is worse than not plowing at all. Of course, if you've got a heavy enough disc, that'll cover up a multitude of sins from a lousy plowing job! | |
