If you base your assessment solely on stats (catches and yards) you are correct.
Kittle plays in a different offense and his blocking is huge to the SF offense. Kittle's blocking in the run game is possibly more important than his catches/yards. If you flipped them to opposite teams I think Kittle would work better in the KC offense than Kelce would in the SF offense.
Kelce also has the benefit of playing with Mahomes.
