Subject: RE: Bar Joist For Shed?

central - east central Minnesota -

hoofer - 11/27/2022 21:16 Need a cold storage building. Has anyone used bar joint in place of I beams to build a shed . Looking at 40 plus foot trusses, would support them in the middle with a post . Could I space them at 20 to 25 feet with purlins between? I’m trying to think outside the box , inflation is real. Wind is our biggest issue in my world, would be at least a 4/12 pitch. Thanks

It depends on the construction/weight of the bar joist. . . . .  20-25ft is hard to say without seeing and estimating what type of bar joist you have to work with . . . .
