Subject: RE: steiger tractors

Might pay to pull final drive plugs and stick magnent in (some have magnetic plugs and some don't), I bought one with a dry final drive once, as seal had been replaced and someone forgot about the oil. Drive it and see if center pivot pins are worn they are good old tractors many will likely still be running when the software has been abandoned on the tier 4 tractors. Neighbor just got stuck by Deere for $2900 dollars for a new hood for a 7420 deere as the plastic did not like cold weather thats not a problem on a old steiger as the hoods are 3/8" plate.
