Central Il Morton
The McFarland is a good tool but don't overlook the Salford harrow. I had a field that was double cropped SB after wheat and had a mat of material that I could not work up with my Max harrow. My DMI field cultivator could run through the mat but brought up Mud.

Ask neighbor who had a Salford on a MT 875. to work it up and before he was done I started planting. I could not believe how easily that field dried out and I had a seed bed that I could work with.

Good Luck with your decision.
