Are there any brand that you guys are planting behind? Currently run a landoll 7431vt pulling a 1645d unverferth behind which does an acceptable job of seed bed prep overall with one pass if field is sprayed clean. Would like something that could handle burying some weeds when needed but still run shallow enough to leave corn stalks on top on the hillier ground. Salesmen in our area claim I won’t like the seed bed, can’t shallow up enough for our hills to leave trash and won’t do a good job running 8-9mph. Really don’t want to run over 8-9mph do to hills and smaller fields it’s fast enough for our terrain. Is this what most of you have found that run them? Thanks
Running a Horsch Joker RT32. Can definitely plant behind it after one pass in some conditions, especially if it’s dry or if you’re running a bit shallower. Running deep in the fall in corn stalks it does not leave it quite as smooth but one pass in the spring will make it beautiful. First year to do any fall work with it so maybe after it settles through the winter it would be acceptable come spring? Pulling your 1645D behind it would be perfect. Not sure what your salesman is saying about not being able to run it shallow enough..can run it as shallow as you want.
