I started buying the burger in 10# tubes. Cut to the thickness I want a burger and slap it down. Works great and ends up about the right size when cooked. Usually cut the whole tube and take the extras and lay on parchment paper and put in the freezer till froze then place in a zip lock bag and ready to go for next burger meal.
