| I have the 4240 that my dad bought new in 1978 and it now has about 4300 hrs. I put a 4430 turbo and manifold on a number of years ago. It works very well as it is not the big tractor. I had the pump redone as was mentioned it has the rosa master pump and it was not long lived. I planted with a 7000 16 rn planter with dry fertilizer for many years. It pulled it fine in the field but was tricky driving down the road. You had to be awake. The tractor is not that easy on fuel either with or without the turbo. We set this one at 135 pto hp. Probably would do it again, as it didn't cost that much. The biggest cost was to relocate the exhaust out the hood. I sure like it better than the 4430 that I used to have. | |
