SE South Dakota
All good advice but I would #1 change fuel filtlers even thought only 800 miles on existing.
#2 have a spare filter and needed wrench/rags
#3 put in only #1 fuel if available/ southern Iowa-also Howe's or Powerservice
#4 winterfront/southern Iowa (cardboard with hole@Jim's advice)
# 5 there is some thought as to running the tank only half full or so. The engine will warm the fuel as it is returned to the tank and if only half full fuel would be able to stay warmer. I know this works for my semi, don't know about pickups.
#6 look at the forecast for Hector, MN and stay home, it's too cold for someone from Mississippi! Actually it could be alot colder, enjoy the north country.
