Subject: RE: oliver 1855/1955 questions

Virginia
We had a 1855 for a good 30 years. Whitsel brothers in Harrisonburg Va was our local dealer. Shop foreman years ago told us that white put 1955 motors in a bunch of 1855's and ours had been repowered. I grew up on that tractor and wish we had never traded it off. We put a bush hog 3226 loader on it, and it has moved a pile of hay. It pulled a john deere round baler for years, and pulled a jd 946 center pivot over alot of land. It was a brute, i think it had 5-6000 hrs on it when we traded it off. We always idled it for 5 min or so after working it real hard. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. They were good old tractors.
