s.e. Pa | I’m biased, but we have an 1855 with updates that has been real good. I would not be afraid of another one. You do probably want one with the later style “oil cooler block” on the right hand side. The updates that it should have would be one piece rod bushings, and 12 point rod bolts. We usually run some Lucas additive in ours, and fill 1 quart over full on the dipstick. I am careful to let it warm up and cool down as well. Ours doesn’t get used real hard, but it gets 1-200 hours per year. Pulls a grain drill, mows and bales hay, is actually hooked to a small grain cart now.
