| My neighbor bought a new Chandler to spread chicken litter two years ago. He just bought the basic mechanical drive machine. I used it to spread 75 acres of litter at 1.5 tons per acre. It worked very well, didn't take much horsepower. But the litter has to be dry or it will clump, plug up at the metering gate. I have a Kuhn PS242 vertical beater spreader. Kuhn makes another beater set that has horizontal beaters that feed spinners underneath. 4 bolts and a quik disconnect driveshaft and you can switch beater sets. That set up would be the cats meow for spreading litter, lime to pen pack cattle manure, but $$$$$. | |
