Subject: RE: Amazone fertilizer spreaders

Amazone is a German company which makes VERY good quality equipment, but it's expensive (and still just a spinner) !!

ALL spinners suffer from the same issues, which include light/dusty materials, rolling fields and wind. All of these factors CAN (and often do) add up to make a streaked mess, especially when spreading at wide swath widths, with light products like urea (which tends to be handled multiple times, though fertilizer storage buildings and tender trucks into the spreader).

European farms often take delivery of fertilizer in 1 ton bags, which were bagged at the fertilizer plants (see example of ammonium nitrate below). This sounds prehistoric, but the prill/granule quality is VERY good, because it doesn't get handled multiple times through augers etc.
