It might depend what size rocks you are thinking of. Little pebbles to 2" or fist sized and larger?

From what I’ve seen any kind of a rubber rake tine will put more rocks in a windrow than the Z style steel tines. And the Ultimates with the rubber tines have the wheels tipped back on top which makes rocks less likely to slip under the tines. And the 48 tine wheels (red frame) will probably be worse than the 40 tine wheels (white frame). There is such a thing as an Ultimate with the steel Z style tines. I don’t know that the rubber tines will be better in thin grass than anything else. Any thin crop is usually a bugger to rake clean with any kind of rake.
