Sioux County, NWIA | I would recommend not setting the wrap for an even number of wraps. NH balers start and end the wrap quite precisely; an even number of wraps kind of leaves you with a ‘break on the dotted line’ deal where the wrap starts and ends as there is one less wrap right at that spot. I pretty much always run a +.25 turn increment to avoid that. The wrap I use is around $.55 a turn, so I feel the extra 13 cents or so is cheap insurance.
If you haven’t measured the actual diameter of a bale, it would be a good idea to do so. Measure right after the bale is dumped; measure across and vertically and use the average of the two. Seems like the BRs I ran always made a bale a couple inches larger than the monitor showed. | |
