Smaller tractors have Deere engines, which suffered all the same problems that they did fitted to Deere's. I know people on here won't here a word of it, but Claas developed their own head gaskets to alleviate that problem.
They are part owners of the Gima transmission plant that Massey use. Word on the street says they work better in Claas tractors. Claas's CVT is C-Matic.
Their larger tractors use FPT engines, which seem to have a good reputation.
People were using resale as a stick to beat them with, but you never see cheap, used Claas tractors, so go figure.
People seem pretty loyal to them, with plenty of repeat sales. Claas are trying to position themselves as a Fendt competitor.
I'm told the cabs are very good indeed, with only JCB bettering their ride comfort
