Yes, I would suspect cylinder liner orings if your serial number is in the range. I would contact your dealer as there are special out of warranty programs to assist with the repair cost.
I have not seen any overheating issues on other failures I have experienced,so that may be a separate issue.
There is a coolant additive, but it is not a fix for the problem. It is just a temporary solution.
