Ed based on your advice I uninstalled AVG 9.0 on 2 machines that were up for renewal and installed MS internet security. The old laptop on XP runs twice as fast now. Thanks for the tip. Last night I bought my MIL an new computer at Best Buy and the sales guy was sure putting on the sales pitch to buy one of their security programs. When I mentioned that MS had a nice free program that works he acted like he had never heard of it and insisted that a free program would not work.
