Subject: RE: Corn crop size estimate

I don't think people are realizing whats in the fields as large swaths of Iowa and the I29 corridor thru Fargo and how bad Nebraska and Kansas are. We will be sub 170 without question as those parts of Nebraska and Iowa contribute to a large portion of the "corn belt". Harvested acres will also be low. The harvest price on crop insurance will approach $7.55 a bushel just like 2012 as the carryout from 2021 was already shorter than usual. I expect a 750 million bushel reduction so that puts final numbers around 13.7-13.8 billion bushels. Quite sure at those levels that we will top the yearly highs for corn and soybean prices at some point again this year. Soybeans will be awfully short with a carryout that was already super tight. Don't kill the messenger. Record heat occuring during a flash drought is another black swan at the moment. Just my opinion.
