There was a similar guy in Canada, named Merv Erb. He became quite notorious for importing unregistered chemicals, and got in trouble as I recall.
He sounded a bit like Saul Goodman in the way he positioned himself as a defender of personal liberties and freedoms. Had a few fans too.
No idea what happened to him.
