Subject: RE: Baling Corn Stalks Behind Conbine?

NC Iowa
Do it most years for feed bales. Have stalk stompers on and bale same direction as I combine, usually right at 2 bales an acre. I also tighten up stripper plates to bring in a little more leaves..

One year I did some behind combine, and raked some on same field and same variety. I fed one of each on the same day. They finished the one baled behind combine, then bellered for a day like they had nothing to eat, then finally started on raked bale. Most people say there cows won't eat cornstalk bales,. Mine will eat them pretty good, better then not so good hay many years.
