Texas | Ed is absolutely correct about the field issues. It is not an easy and simple program to use if you use it as it is intended to be used. I would carry a pocket calendar with me and enter the data during the day, i.e., machine hour meter readings, fuel, seed, hours (even time of day), field weather, etc, etc. I would also keep logs in all of the vehicles to document the odometer readings and fuel quantities to enter into the program at a later time. I was very detailed with the data and it was satisfying to a point. My biggest gripe was program errors that couldn't be fixed without sending the data to FW, some errors of which didn't ever get fixed. I don't like sending my data to anyone, especially when the trouble is their fault, and they are using my data to fix a program bug. After doing all of that and having reports jumbled, and even more troubling, having yield and application data goofed up, I got tired. I liberated myself by switching to software that is much more simple to use. I also gained by having accounting software that is far superior to FW funds. I mainly keep records for the accounting benefit, not so much so for the enterprise profitability benefit. While that is important to track, I don't necessarily make management decisions based upon enterprise records. You tend to have an adequate "feel" for your business after a point in time. The bottom line is that I quit FW because it didn't serve the purpose for me that I wanted...... for many reasons that may not apply to others. If you like FW, then jump in on the discussion.
