Iowa | Its always been my understanding that in saturated soils(hoping not but considering the last two years?) urea based forms of N can go into nitrate form in less than two weeks therefore being susceptable to leaching/denitrification where as NH3 can hold together into the 4-6 week range? This is going onto no-till Corn on Corn so I'm not real excited about the liquid idea since it wont be worked in either. My plan was to get 180# of NH3 down early(weather permitting) and run 40# 2x2 at planting in a mix of 32% & 12-0-0-26. I guess right or wrong its just my idea of investment protection. Would love to sidedress it but tight/steep contours eliminate that option. I would greatly appreciate any and all input on this. TIA
