Subject: Versatile 435 fault issue

Good evening!

My Versatile 435 is giving me trouble during wheat harvest. Have a recurring F547 on the dash and an FMI 2 SPN 627 on the engine display on my cab pillar. When the faults pop the engine rpm will surge/will almost die at times and machine is basically unusable. I dug around on it today and found the harness where it crosses the back of the engine had rubbed completely through several wires and down to copper on a few others. I repaired all the wires and insulated the harness so it wouldn’t happen again. Drove the tractor around for 15 minutes to test repairs and thought all was well. So, I parked and shut it down. Decided to crank it and recheck, faults are back and engine surges badly. Is there anything else I could check before spending a fortune to get Versatile or Cummins out here to remedy this? Really need the machine to pull my grain cart!

F547 in the book says power lost without ignition off. I found A QSX15 diagram of the OEM plug showing which pins are power and ground. Was going to check all that in the morning. I just have no idea what the other fault is.

Thanks in advance!
