Interesting, I hadn't heard that but believe it. Especially with robotic feeders with electric solenoids that bang shut quickly. We recently put a line through the trusses of a barn to supply a waterer with plate cooler water. When a 1" Hudson valve shut, the shock would ripple through the trusses as if someone was up there with a sledgehammer. We put a shock arrestor beside the valve after that.
