Northern Idaho		wheatgrower- you may be right I heard that based on certain conditions and I have not personally ever operated a tractor with rubber tracks. Last year we were looking at buying a combine from a guy over in the washington palouse and they had just bought a brand new combine but were still running 4 old steel tracked cats along with 2 rubber tracked tractors. He said the steel is still very popular in the dry areas for summer fallow work because they hold the hills better than rubber. Of course they have a different soil type and do summer fallow which you probably dont do.
