SW OH | The first one I blew up was in an 1800 loadstar. It was mounted on the firewall and I was standing on the tire. Tapped the jumper cables together right above it to see it I was getting connection on the other end. I saw the plates inside the battery before I closed my eyes. The shrapnel left several cuts on my face but I kept my eyes closed. I was showered with enough acid it ran down to my pants. My nephew helped me get down and led me to a water hose and hosed me down.
The second one blew up when splatter from welding melted through the top of a battery. I didn't think about covering it first as I didn't think I was close enough to it. The helmet shielded my face but I still had acid in my hair running down my face.
