Subject: RE: soil finisher to replace a field cultivator and disc

Coles County, Illinois
There's one type of soil that gets hard if it gets dry that I'd want a finisher on and that's only because it can get to where a Tigermate can't go in set for 2". Then and only then do I feel like a finisher could be helpful. Thankfully I only have 30 acres like this and only need to disk it maybe once every 10 years.

Everywhere else the F.C. does fine. Yes, I get fist sized clods but the row cleaners move the ones that could cause shallow planting and the down pressure on the planter gauge wheels crush the smaller ones. Don't judge planting conditions by surface conditions. Look down where the seed is.
